Starting point

BS25 1HD

Woodborough Inn, Sandford Road, Winscombe.

We will meet in the free car park behind The Woodborough Inn, in the heart of Winscombe village. The pub has toilet facilities should you need them and we plan to end the ride with a drink/lunch in the pub afterwards.  We’re Madi and Emma – we’re friendly and local Breeze champions, and we're here to help more of us North Somerset women to get into bike riding. This ride from Winscombe is flat, approx. 9 mile ride that follows a pretty, rural route down the Strawberry Line to Sandford, through the cider orchards, a short part on a quiet road before picking up the Strawberry Line again through to Congresbury.  We will then turn round and return the same way. The Strawberry Line is a disused railway path consisting of a compact gravel surface. This ride is perfect for beginners and anyone who is not confident riding on their own or on the road and would like to do a sociable bike ride with other women with an emphasis on fun not fitness.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides.   It’s a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. Please bring some money if you want to stop for a drink/lunch in the pub afterwards. We plan to ride at approximately 8-10 miles per hour. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Madi, on 0789 6076387. Look forward to seeing you there!
