Starting by the benches at 5 Rise Locks, join Anne for a partially hilly 3 cake ride to Cononley with a cafe stop at Paceline Cycles in Crosshills. Riders will need to be confident on busier roads and please ensure brakes are in good working order! We will head out towards Utley along the canal, turning left onto Granby Lane and then right at the traffic lights onto Bradford Rd. We will ride a short section on the main road before turning right onto Ings Rd and using the underpass to Utley. At the top of Arctic Street we will turn left and then immediate right to ride up Greenhead Rd. We will then use Hollins Lane to admire the views across the Aire Valley before a steep descent down into Steeton rejoining the main road passing the hospital and then turning left into Sutton. Through Sutton we will then turn left and then right at the mini roundabout to head up Park Rd before turning right to again enjoy the descent and views towards Skipton. In Cononley we turn right and will dismount at the Skipton Rd junction to cross and then rejoin the road back to Kildwick, using the underpass to arrive at Paceline for our cafe stop. To return to 5 Rise we may return to Kildwick and then go up and over to Silsden joining the canal towpath for a section and then returning to the cycle lane on Bradford Rd. Alternatively we can use a route back through Steeton depending on how riders are feeling. Please be aware that there maybe changes to the route on the day depending on weather and road conditions. Cafe stop at Paceline Cycles in Crosshills. We will of course stop when necessary to admire views and catch our breath.

Some road sections will be quiet roads but some will also be on busier main roads.

Helmets needed plus warm clothing and wet weather gear to cover all eventualities. Pumps and inner tubes. Cash/card for payment at cafe stop.
