This route links Sunderland to South Shields along a superb costal route which provides excellent views of Marsden Bay and Rock. 16 miles in total, 8 miles each way. Mid point will be Bents Park, where we can stop for a bite to eat (please bring some picnic food and drink). Surfaced cycle path and promenade, mostly flat. Suitable for all bikes. Reasonable fitness - due to distance. Meeting & finishing at Sunderland's National Glass Centre, we will aim to get back by 3pm, so we can go into the centre and watch the famous glass blowing Live with commentary. The centre is free to enter and look around, with cafe and toilets to access.
