Rose Hill (Marple) Railway Station, Off Stockport Road
The ride follows part of the Middlewood Way, a disused railway line from Marple to Macclesfield and cuts through the beautiful Cheshire countryside. We will cycle out to the viaduct at Bollington, go past the recreation park and come back on the canal tow path.
The trail is flat and totally traffic free along the Middlewood Way and the canal tow path.
We will be stopping at the half way point to go to a local cafe for a well-deserved break. Please bring a bike lock with you (if you have one) to secure your bike while we stop for a drink.
Please ensure that your bike is roadworthy before you come on the ride. The route is most suitable for bikes with wider tyres as wet weather can make the trail and particularly the tow path are muddy and uneven.
Please bring and wear lots of layers to keep you warm, we are cycling in Autumn and these rides are supposed to be fun. It is always better to be able to take a layer off than feel cold, there is nothing worse to ruin a fun ride. It's a good idea to bring a drink and snack with you to keep you going.
Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
As with all Breeze Network rides, we will ride at the speed of the slowest cyclist. You will not be left behind so there is no need to worry!
See you there!!
Don’t forget…. Breeze are on a mission to spread the word about their rides, and need your help. If you introduce one friend who goes on to take part in a Breeze ride, you’ll receive a Breeze water bottle, introduce a second friend, you’ll be the proud owner of one of their swish Breeze Buffs, and introduce a third friend and Breeze will send you £15 of Love2Shop vouchers.
