Visitor Centre and Cafe at Marquis Drive in Cannock Chase, Hednesford, Staffordshire, (NOT BIRCHES VALLEY). Meet at the metal green table. Free on road or paid car park. Various other free car parks close to start area.

Free public social ride. Starting at Marquis' Drive café (NOT BIRCHES VALLEY) we head down kit bag hill and over the railway and Hednesford road and past Moors Gorse Pumping Station then up several hills and on to Castle Ring Iron Age hill fort which is the highest point on Cannock Chase at about 240 metres above sea level. We then make our way back via several different trails and more hills then homeward bound back past Fairoak pools up the hill and back to Marquis' Drive and a much needed cup of tea and one of the cafe's great cakes. This trail, riding is through a mixture of woodlands on tracks and fire roads. Quit a bit of off road climbing is involved on this route as its the highest part of Cannock Chase. No one is left behind as we ride as a group. All off road so only bikes with off road tyres. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not worry as you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
