Downs Link Cycle route Henfield - Shoreham Beach

  A New Year, a new YOU! Our destination will be Shoreham Town or Beach, depending on the weather. This steady paced ride will be around 20 miles and is NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS, however, we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider and no-one will be left behind. After time to warm up in one of the many lovely cafes in Shoreham with a cuppa and a few calories, we will retrace our route back to the start point.                                                          ******* As we cross the South Downs there are some hilly sections with loose gravel. This ride is only suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids with knobbly tyres. Please give your bike a check over before you leave home, are the tyres pumped up? Are the gears and brakes working properly? Always carry a spare inner tube, puncture repair kit and a pump, just in case. Please come prepared for the weather forecast on the day - a few layers, a lightweight jacket to keep you warm and dry, gloves and good grip on your shoes (plus any medication you may require). Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry, you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
