Chesterfield trans Penine Trail Loop

This ride will follow the Trans Pennine Trail Loop around Chesterfield. Starting from Tapton Lock, we will ride along the canal to Staveley. We'll then follow the Trans Penine Trail Loop through Staveley and along to Inkersall. We'll climb up through the village to West Wood then follow the quiet roads and bridleways back to Tapton Lock. There is some on road riding and hills so please be prepared. Not the best for absolute beginners or anyone who doesn't manage hills very well. We will be stopping for a snack at TaptonLock cafe once we are back. If the weather has been bad and the paths are too wet and slippy, we will ride down the canal to Staveley basin and stop at Nonna's cafe on the way back. Details on which route nearer the time. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. We really welcome newcomers to our rides. It’s a good idea to bring water, a snack and some money. Also a puncture repair kit if you have one (you don't need to know how to use it!)
