A breeze from Hillsborough to Rotherham

This ride will be a steady paced ride perfect for all levels of cyclists.  I really welcome beginners and newcomers on my rides.  As we ride to the slowest paced rider, no one ever gets left behind. It is a good idea to bring a drink, snack, bike lock, money if you will be requiring snacks and drinks at the cafe stop. As it is winter, it is also strongly advisable to wear warm clothing, lots of comfortable, warm layers, and wear or pack waterproofs (if you have them). Whilst wearing a helmet is strongly advised it is not compulsory. This route is mostly off road, and suitable for most bikes. However given the time of year, I would advise that whilst most of the paths/ cycle routes are tarmaced, there maybe parts of the route that are unsuitable for skinny/slick tyres.  The route will take NCN 627, then 5 Weirs Walk, and NCN 6. Please note some of NCN6 is closed at Meadowhall, with on going disruption. Therefore there may be a short walk across the car park at Meadowhall to reach the Canal.  Please ensure you have footwear that is suitable for walking in, as the walk is between 5-10minutes. Car parking is available at Owlerton Stadium, Im unsure as to whether or not there is a charge. Please also be advised that the car park may be used by Motor bike training and the traffic around the area may be busy at the time we get back if Sheffied Wednesday have a home fixture.
