This relatively short ride is ideal for breeze newbies! It is mostly on traffic-free cycle paths and fairly flat for most of the ride.
There is one hill so having a moderate level of fitness will make this all the more enjoyable! Once at the top it's flat or downhill from there on.
We start on Preston seafront and amble round to Paignton promenade. From here we ride around the harbour and head slightly uphill to Roundham before dropping down into Youngs Park. A saunter along the Goodrington seafront takes us out to the Three Beaches shops, and just after this is where the main climb begins. There is a nice wide bus/cycle lane to keep us well clear of the traffic as we slow up a little!
At Windy corner we pick up the cycle path through a quiet housing estate and head back towards the Zoo on a traffic-free path. One final descent takes us back to the seafront where we can enjoy a cup of afternoon tea!
Suitable clothing for the weather conditions and a helmet is recommended. Bring some water and maybe a snack. A puncture repair kit, spare tube and a bike lock for the cafe is also a good idea.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
