Starting from Leverhulme Park we follow the cycle path towards Bury via Elton Reservoir. At the reservoir we cross the canal and the Metro line to get onto the Roch Valley Greenway. Crossing the river using the new pedestrian/cycling bridge at Gigg, we then head South to Heaton Park. A quick lap of the park and then it’s over to Phillips Park via Prestwich Clough. Its then south down into Drinkwater Park and then back North over the M60 and up to Clifton Country Park where we have a café stop. Refreshed, we cycle to the Meccano bridge at Nob End and follow the canal towards Radcliff. After crossing Radcliff, we head back Bolton via the cycle path.

Must of the route is on cycle paths or quiet roads. There are short sections on busy roads and some of the paths can be very muddy. Your bike really needs off road tyres.

Café stop in Clifton Country Park

Please bring a helmet spare inner tubes and money for the café stop
