Durham to Finchale Abbey

An easy and picturesque ride leaving from Freemans Quay leisure centre, heading across the bridge and through fields up to Frankland prison and across to Finchale Priory on quiet roads. This route is mainly off road and suitable for children of 8+. As its Easter, we are also very happy to open this ride up to Dads, the more the merrier!. There are two inclines on the journey to Finchale and a steep exit from the Priory itself. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the fields and history around Durham and cake at Finchale.
