Ripon

Join us on this relaxing ride starting from the historic city of Ripon making our way to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal.  We head out initially on quiet back roads before quickly getting on to traffic free tracks towards the stunning grounds of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, skirting the beautiful village of Studley Royal. There will be plenty of opportunities to spot the local wildlife, including hares, squirrels and birds along the way as well as the estate’s very own Deer Park. The grounds of the Abbey and Water Gardens are a World Heritage site including scenic lakes and a historic church.  We take some time out at the Visitor Centre to enjoy a cup of tea and cake and browse the tempting local delicacies in the shop, before leisurely heading back towards Ripon. **Please note there will be a charge for anybody who is not a National Trust member wanting to enter the property** For more information on Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal please click on the link below. http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/fountains-abbey/ Join us on some amazing rides, created in association with our friends at the National Trust. Make the most of some beautiful countryside, and great facilities for cyclists. If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. ©National Trust Images / John Millar
