Bretton Centre to Ferry Meadows

Start outside the Age UK Shop at the Bretton Centre and follow the cycleways to Ferry Meadows Country Park where we take a break at the Green Cafe or go for a ride around the lakes (or both) before heading home. Get some fresh air and meet some new people by joining this scenic and fun ride to Ferry Meadows Country Park. Our meeting point is the Age UK shop in Bretton – the nearest train station is Peterborough approximately 15 mins ride away, or you can park in the centre. Once we’ve checked over our bikes and warmed up, we’ll ride out on cycle paths, exploring Peterborough’s countryside and making the most of the lovely views and fresh air.  After stopping at Green Cafe where we can get a cake and a cuppa and slice of cake, we’ll continue around the lakes before heading home. The route is mostly flat and we’ll ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet. Please bring some money if you want to buy refreshments. Please look out for other rides in Peterborough throughout spring and summer where we’ll be exploring more of Peterborough and its environs.  The rides will vary and will be suited to the group and where you would like to go!
