Our feature ride for this season! An all-day ride! This ride takes us along the old Whitby to Scarborough railway line, closed in 1965. The track follows the coast with great views across to the North Sea.
Cars to Whitby then we make our way to Larpool and pick up the track crossing the Larpool Viaduct. We head on towards the village of Hawsker and onto Robin Hood's Bay (short stop). It's then back onto the track to Fylinghall, Ravenscar (if time allows you may like to visit the old alum works on the cliff edge). Staintondale is our next port of call and it's Tea Room. Hayburn Wyke and Coughton are next on the line before we reach Scalby. Scarborough is the end of the line, a break in Scarborough then it's time to return to Whitby.
This ride will be weather-dependant. In other words, if it rains on the day, the ride will be cancelled. Cars will be needed to travel to Whitby. We will get together to organise transport for people & bikes prior to the day. We also have a leaflet available with more info on this ride, ask us to get yourself one of these.
