This is a series of 7 Monday Night rides between 1/2/16 to 14/3/16. This route starts at Spenleach Lane, Hawkshaw at the junction of the main A676 Hawkshaw Road. This is a night ride and suitable only for riders who are confident on main roads, with ability to tackle some challenging hills. As usual we will always keep at the pace of the slowest rider but its not suitable for novice riders. Hybrid and road bikes are recommended. It is absolutely essential to have warm, weather appropriate reflective clothing and bright lighting. The brighter the better, headlamps are also a good idea. We ride along the main A676 towards Bolton, turning left towards Affetside, ascending towards the Affetside Pack Horse pub then it steadies out and we start a long descent towards Harwood and then on to the Leagate at Bradshaw where we turn right back along the A676 towards Hawshaw. This route is reversible so we can change to the more challenging ascending route, Bradshaw, Harwood and back to Affetside if everyone agrees. The roads are all undulating and in places the route is challenging. The Pack Horse has kindly agreed to be a toilet stop for us. The Breeze mapping tool isn't working at time of writing so an example from strava has been placed on the local Facebook websites.
