Causey Arch Picnic Area

Sunday 17 April 2016 10.30am 22 miles Causey Arch to the Tyne and back Join us for an adventure from Causey Arch (NE16 5EG) to the Tyne at Dunstan Staithes where we'll have lunch before heading back. Our ride will be a mix of roads and old railway lines passing Burnopfield, Rowlands Gill and along the River Derwent and Tyne to our lunch stop at Dunstan Staithes. We'll come back a different way via Watergate Park and the Tanfield railway path. The route follows a maze of delightful hidden green spaces. It will be best for hybrid bikes as the riding surfaces are varied. Please come prepared with plenty of clothes including gloves, bring a spare inner tube for your tyres as well as some money for refreshments. Although it is difficult to predict how long we'll be out, expect to return to Causey Arch by 4pm. Hope you can join us for a fun and friendly ride. Please note that a search of the postcode NE16 5EQ will probably take you to the pub close by rather than where we will meet - the picnic site is on the west of the A6076. If you want any more information email us at [email protected]. Audrey and Jacki
