Railway Cafe - Wolverhampton to Wombourne Loop

From the Ranger Centre we can push our bikes onto the South Staffordshire Railway Track and cycle towards Wombourne, stopping for tea/coffee and cake at The Railway Cafe.  This will be followed by a short ride on the road leading us onto the canal towpath at Bratch Top Lock to take us back to the start. The route is approximately 10 miles; mostly flat apart from the occasional rise next to some of the locks along the canal.  Be prepared for some mud and puddles; probably best if you don't wear your Sunday best. This is meant to be a leisurely ride, so is suitable for ladies who have not ridden a bike for some time.  This ride is not suitable for road bikes; hybrids and mountain bikes are ideal. We have estimated a total time of 2 1/2 hours, which includes 10 to 15 minutes when we first meet up and a 30 minute stop at the cafe. The ride back on the canal towpath is also a nice route with lots of different canal boats to look at as we cycle past. Helmets are recommended, but are optional.  We will be carrying a pump and toolkit; please bring a spare inner tube as it can save time on repairs.
