Car Park next to the Waskerley Way, Consett, County Durham.
We will meet in the car park next to the Waskerley Way, just off the A692 between Consett and Castleside on the road to Hown's Farm.
This is a lovely ride up to the remote cafe at Parkhead station at the top of Waskerley Reservoir. The Waskerley Way follows the old railway line up from Consett past Castleside and up onto the Durham Moors.
It's a great way of viewing the more remote areas of Durham's beautiful moorland with a well earned stop for coffee and cake at the Parkhead station cafe. Feeling suitably proud of youself you can then freewheel the 8 miles back to the car park. Suitable for children 10 and over.
Please bear in mind that the weather will be changeable and parts of the route are exposed to the wind. Gloves, hats, buffs and waterproofs are recommended.
We look forward to riding with you, Jacki and Audrey. Give me a call on 07795 390871 if you have problems finding us.
