A Breeze along Thorncombe Street

Starting by the pedestrian crossing by the entrance to Woking Park opposite the Football Ground. We shall be cycling out through Guildford to Bramley doing a circuit today of about 30 miles. The route does go up hill and we will be cycling along a busy road so this ride is not suitable for beginners. We will be cycling over a mixture of surfaces, tarmac, quiet country lanes some with loose gravel, the Downs link and a towpath. The NCN in Guildford has steps on route and we do go along a short bridleway where we will need to carry our bikes down some stairs. The bike you ride needs to have suitable tyres that can handle this varied terrain, so narrow road slicks will not be sutable, nor will heavy mountain bike tyres as they will slow you down on the road sections, which there are more of. The intention is ride at an average of 10mph for 3 hours and our stop will be for lunch towards the end in Shalford.
