A Breeze around Sheffield: Tales of Suffrage and Votes for Women

Join us on this short 3 mile ride through Broomhill, Crookesmoor and the City Centre, to discover local sites links to Women's Suffrage, trade unions and getting Women an equal vote. We also discover it's links to cycling.

The nature of the ride means although the route is short, it will take approximately 2 hours. The route is suitable for any style of bicycle, and the pace will be slow, with lots of stopping, to talk about historical sites and events.

Please wear comfortable clothing, Suffragette outfits or wearing Green, purple and white is optional. Please ensure any outfits are suitable for cycling in. Cycling helmets are optional but advised. Please also ensure you have spare inner tubes or a puncture repair kit. Any drinks and snacks you may need, money for the cafe stop, and a good quality lock for when we stop at the cafe also.

Please note the ride is one way from Broomhill to the City centre. Please ensure you bear this in mind, should you wish to drive to the start point. Whilst the ride starts at the car park in Parkers Lane, the carpark it's self is a short stay car park, and so wont provide enough time to park and come on the full route. Other car parks and on street parking are available near by in Broomhill. Please ensure you check local signs and restrictions before parking, as no responsibility will be taken for any tickets issued to vehicles, whilst on the ride.

At the end of the ride, we can visit a coffee shop for a drink and a brew.
