A Christmas Cycle, Coffee and Chat

From Russell Road we'll head up the zigzags on to the Roseburn Path as far as Craigleith before going through Inverleith Park and on to St Mark's Park by the Warriston Path. From there we'll go along Macdonald Road, skirt the Hibs Stadium and Lochend Park before taking the Restalrig Path to Seafield. After cycling aling Portobello Prom we'll cycle on the road from Joppa to Fisherrow and to the Company Bakery for refreshments.
Then we'll follow the Esk, passing Musselburgh golf course, through Monktonhall, Newcraighall and Brunstane and along the Innocent Path, through the Innocent Tunnel and the Meadows. Finally we'll ride through Bruntsfield Links to the canal and Fountainbrdge back to Russell Road.

A mix of shared paths, quiet roads, short sections of busier roads, riverside path and a canal towpath

We'll have short periodic stops but the aim us to keep warm. We'll have a cafe stop at Company Bakery in Musselburgh

Helmets recommended, layers, gloves, layers, clothing appropriate for Scotland in December. Cash/payment card, spare inner tubes/tools to suit your bike. It's advisable to have a backup plan for getting home should you have to leave the ride.
