The ride will start out from Dewsbury and follow the Spen Valley Greenway up to Heckmondwyke.
From there we will head up Union Road to the A62 before taking the right fork on to Roberttown Lane.
Once we’ve cleared Roberttown we’ll continue along Windy Bank Lane but turn into Church Lane until and pass the Gray Ox at Hartshead.
From Hartshead we will drop down through Battyford, back onto the Mirfield Greenway to Ravensthorpe before heading back to Leggers.

This Sunday’s ride will leave the Leggers Inn and head through Dewsbury on a circuit taking in Heckmondwyke, Roberttown, Hartshead and Mirfield. There are a few hills on this ride so please be prepared to accept the challenge.

We will travel along a combination of greenways and tarmac roads. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the tarmac sections so riders will need to be confident in those situations. Mountain bikes, hybrids and road bikes should be ok for this ride. Road tyres could struggle in places if there are wet leaves on the greenways.

Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding. Helmets are mandatory on all Kirklees Riders outings. Tea/coffee may be taken back at the cafe at Leggers once the ride is complete.
