Slaithwaite

This is a simply stunning ride showcasing the best of the Kirklees hills and valleys. Starting in the beautiful village of Slaithwaite this ride has some tough hills but with that comes the varied and rewarding views of the Colne and Holme Valleys.  On the 21 miles we cover we take in many local landmarks along the way, including the Standedge Tunnel Visitor Centre at Marsden - "the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in the UK".  We will be making a stop at the Visitor Centre well-earned breather and refreshments before completing this fantastic loop.  This ride is truly one not to be missed for anybody wanting to stretch the legs and take in the best of what the area has to offer! You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.
