The route starts on the Whitesands and follows the Nith through Dock Park to the Kirkpatrick McMillan bridge where we will go across the Nith and through Troqueer to New Abbey road. We then follow the cycle route to Cargenbridge and onto the Maxwellton Railway Cycle path. We return over the bridge at the rowing club and follow the Nith back to the starting point.

This route crosses the river Nith to Troqueer and follows cycle pathways in Dumfries taking in the Maxwellton cycle path and returning over the Nith at the rowing club.

The ride will be a mix of cycle paths and quiet town roads.

We will stop at various points to view the river Nith. Riders can request stops.

All cyclists should wear a cycle helmet. There is no coffee stop planned.

This is a beginner route which is fairly flat and mostly off roads.
