Statues and Street Art – The stories behind the people who created the history of the city.

Liverpool is a city adorned both with historic statues and modern vibrant street art wall paintings. On this ride we will have the chance to see some of them and consider the history and legends that lie behind the art.

The ride will begin at the cafe in Sefton park, and head through the University area into the city centre. We will head through the trendy Baltic Quarter to look out for the iconic statues and wall paintings that tell the history of the city.

From there, we will make our way back via Princes Park to the start.

This is part of a series of six short winter rides, led by a qualified Liverpool tour guide. The rides will each cover a different aspect of the heritage and history of our wonderful city of Liverpool. The shorter distances are ideal for the winter weather!

All the six rides in this series will be on a mixture of traffic-free paths and roads, so participants need to be confident riding in traffic and using their gears to climb some uphill roads. However, we will only be riding at a speed of around 10mph with plenty of opportunities to stop, to view and learn about the sites on the routes. So, the rides are great for anyone who is new to riding in a group, new to the city or just wanting to get out and about and learn a bit about Liverpool.

We will return to Sefton Park at the end of the ride, where there is an opportunity to stop for a hot drink and chat in the park café.

Any roadworthy bike is fine. Warm and weather-proof clothing is required as it is Winter!! Please bring a drink and a spare inner tube that fits your bike's wheels.

We never leave anyone behind
