ATTENTION: Please note that there is a major event taking place at Spillers Car Park at the Cycle Hub. The car park is closed to the public on Saturday 26th May and car access down to the Hub is restricted. To get to the Cycle Hub we recommend you head up to Walker Road or the Free Trade and park on the street and walk down to the Hub. The Social Ride will still take place, this does not affect your ride on the day.

Come join us on our new route to Watergate Forest Park. We will head along the Quayside crossing over Scotswood Bridge towards Gateshead Teams arriving at Watergate Forest Park. We will then head back to the Cycle Hub via Gateshead Teams, passing the Staiths crossing over the Millenium Bridge.

Please note that this route has a couple of stretches of elevation (hills) on route to Watergate Forest Park. Please view the map provided for elevation levels. Road bikes are not suitable due to gravelly off-road paths. Riders should be comfortable riding on bikes. The pace of our social ride is usually between 8-10 mph; however, the pace may change depending on the group ability on the day.

If you would like to hire a bike from The Cycle Hub, there will be a small charge of £5 for a bike, to book your bike, please call The Cycle Hub on 0191 276 7250 and give 24 hours' notice. Any questions regarding the ride, please contact [email protected]

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you cannot make the ride, please cancel your place as these rides are very popular, we want to give others the opportunity to go on these rides.
