A ride to our favourite lunch haunt - the Shadwell library cafe (CASH ONLY) but in reverse to our normal route. From Moortown library to Temple Newsam using road, cycle path and dedicated cycle lanes, via Roundhay Park, Wyke Beck Way, Primrose Park, ELOR and on to Shadwell for our lunch stop. Home via Eccup, and then back to Moortown or Adel depending on your start point.
Leaving the Moor Allerton library & shops car park we head out to King lane to pick up the first cycle path down to ring road and follow to A61 roundabout, cross and onto A61 turning left onto Sandhill lane, then right onto Shadwell lane, through Moortown Park coming out on Street lane, here we head down to Roundhay Park passing Waterloo Lake, we pop out on Wetherby road for 0.1 mile turning right onto Wyke Beck Way, across Easterly road and back on WBW, South Parkway Approach 0.2 mile and back onto WBW coming out on York road, straight across and onto Primrose Valley Park coming out on Primrose lane, straight over at the traffic lights through Lidl car park coming out on Temple Newsam road, this is a steady climb but don't be put off plenty of stopping points. A straight stretch thro the TN park we head out on Elm Tree walk, turning right onto cycle path and follow to Selby road using the traffic lights to cross onto Austhorpe grove then right onto Barrowby lane, after 0.2 mile we turn left down cycle path coming out at The Springs then onto ELOR coming off at Red Hall/A58 and onto Whinmoor lane coming out on Main street Shadwell for our LUNCH break.
We head home out of Shadwell, along Wigton Lane, down behind the Grammar School, and on to Eccup and out to Five Lane Ends. From there either left down King Lane back to Moor Allerton centre or straight over to Adel and the church.
