The route explores the countryside between Nottingham and Ilkeston along quiet bridleways and the Nottingham Canal towpath. Along the way you will cycle past the Grade 2 listed Swingate water tower and reservoir, a well known local landmark.

Over 60% of this route is traffic free. A small portion of the route from Harvey Hadden to Strelley is on quiet roads. The rest of the route follows byways, bridleways the Nottingham canal towpath. The route includes some up hill sections, these are almost all traffic free so everyone can feel able to do this at their own pace.

A helmet is required on this route. If you have a spare inner tube please bring this with you, although it isn't essential.
