Starting from - Alvaston Park car park adjacent to the Waterside Cafe (Google Map Ref: WH46+M7 Derby) (What3words ///shiny.clubs.rigid). Access to Alvaston Park is off the London Road A6 onto Meadow Lane. Car parking is free with toilet facilities. Note: Please check the location prior to setting off as the postcode for the Waterside Cafe can take you to another location if not checked on your satnav. There is a height barrier at the entrance to the park. DE24 8PX

Leaving Alvaston Park we shall ride along the Riverside cycle path towards the Council HQ. We shall leave the path and make our way via 5 Lamps towards the Markeaton/A38 island, were we shall follow the cycle path towards Mickleover Meadows. After a brief ride on the road we shall join the Great Northern Greenway (B5020 Station Road). We ride the full length of the Greenway before leaving it to join Hilton Road, were we head towards Willington. We shall take a break at Mercia Marina Willowtree Cafe before making our way back via Stenson, then onto Sinfin Moor Lane, were we join the Derby Canal cycle path back to Alvaston Park.

A steady meander from Alvaston Park car park in a loop, stopping halfway at Mercia Marina for a well earnt cafe stop before heading back to our start point via Derby Canal cycle path.

Riding on 65% road, rest Great Northern Greenway, Cyclepaths and Derby Canal

We shall be stopping half way at Mercia Marina for refreshments. Toilet facilities are available.

A helmet is a must, suitable clothing for changeable weather conditions during the ride. A spare innertube/puncture kit, & mobile phone. Please ensure your bike is mechanically sound prior to attending the ride. Thank you.
