Just because the evenings are getting darker and colder doesn’t mean we stop cycling!!!!!
Just make sure you bring gloves and wear suitable warm clothes.
Because we will be cycling on a mixture of shared paths, unlit tracks, and quiet roads your FRONT LIGHTS SHOULD BE A 400+ LUMENS.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting next to Kimmitt and Roberts, we head towards Herrington Country Park using Shared paths, tracks and quiet roads, however we won’t being cycling up Newbottle bank. Once at Herrington Park, we will make our way to the site lines and get an awesome view of the Durham Lumiere’s “A Telling of Light” which is on at Penshaw Monument. Our return journey will be the same way back.
A Telling of Light is a special new commission to memorialise and commemorate the huge number of lives lost to Covid in the UK during the course of the pandemic, the work will reflect and recognise the magnitude of this loss and specifically the loss of breath.

On this route we will be cycling over a variety of different terrains including roads, quiet roads, cycle paths, shared paths, muddy tracks, muddy puddles, wet leaves etc. Therefore, this ride is only suitable for Hybrids or Mountain bikes.
It’s now Autumn/Winter cycling weather, PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY it can get cold on an evening.
REMEMBER TO BRING – Bike Lights, warm gloves, wind/raincoat.
