An Easy Evening Ride from Brecon Leisure Centre

This route is mostly flat but we start with a fairly steep downhill on a busy road leading to Brecon town centre. We soon get on to the tranquil canal tow path. Please slow down when passing other cyclists, pedestrians and keep a particular look out for unpredictable dogs. If in doubt stop to let cyclists, pedestrians and dogs pass safely.

Join us on a fabulous evening bicycle ride, starting and finishing at Brecon Leisure Centre (Max. 8 participants).    This ride has been developed for all riding abilities, including beginners.  No significant climbs are included, much of the ride will be along flat canal tow paths. Please ensure your bicycle is robust enough to tackle these gravelly sections. Lightweight, skinny tyres may not be entirely suitable.

We use mainly quiet, country lanes and the canal tow path, with a short section of busy road.  Some of the lanes can be pot holed, gravely and muddy in places but with care we always find a good route around these sections. 

Plenty of opportunity to stop on route to catch your breath, have a drink and enjoy the views.  If there’s enthusiasm, we may stop for a drink at a canal side pub halfway along the route.

Please bring a well-maintained bicycle, wear a helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather.  Remember to carry a drink, a spare tube, puncture repair kit, lock, lights, pump and bring some money for refreshments. We intend to cycle a section of the canal tow path, so please ensure your bicycle is robust enough to tackle this.
