Starting point

PR7 1BS

Outside of the ticket office at Chorley Train Station.

A mixed bag this one - starting off by Chorley Train Station, we climb a little up towards Angelzarke Reservoir and Lever Park. Lever Park has some fantastic trails for all types of riding, and even includes the remains of Liverpool castle. From there we head out to Eccleston (home of some odd-looking fella called Bradley Wiggins apparently) via country lanes, and take a nice scenic tour of the area. We will be stopping off at Eccleston Delph for lunch (they do fantastic food) or bring your own. Eventually we find our way back into Chorley via Astley Park Hall and Estate. Mixed terrain, mostly road with some solid, well made trails in the parks, and a couple of bridleways. Depending on what people want to do in Lever Park, I don't think road bikes are a great idea! You can find the route here: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/142882947 Please note, there is an alternate route of ~29 - 30 miles if people fancy the dirt tracks around Lever Park. Please note that there are a couple of cobbled paths so if you don't have off-road tires, there may be a few hundred yards of walking involved.
