Starting point

Tyne and Wear
NE3 5NF

If you are coming by car, free parking is available in front of the shops (Left side is max 4 hours) or in the nearby quiet residential streets.

Starting at the bus stop we follow the quiet residential streets to join Brunton lane for 1 mile, before turning right onto the off-road tracks. These tracks take us through Havannah Nature Reserve and on to the National cycle Network (NCN) 10. Following NCN 10 we ride to Ponteland, stopping for coffee and cake at Jan’s Kitchen.

Once refuelled we join the road and cycle up Callerton Lane, joining the off-road track just before the school. This track will take us to the airport and onto a quiet road through Airport Freightway. Here our final stretch of the route is a mixture of tracks, shared paths and , quiet residential roads through the housing estates back to the beginning.

On this route we will be cycling over a variety of different terrains including roads, quiet roads, busy roads, cycle paths, shared paths, muddy tracks, muddy puddles, wet leaves etc. Therefore, this ride is only suitable for Hybrids or Mountain bikes.
