Starts along the Leeds/Liverpool canal towpath into Leeds, then brief road section through the city centre to the Royal Armouries where we join the Aire Calder Navigation all the way past Woodlesford Lock and Lemonroyd Marina to the nature reserve at St Aidan's. From there we take The Linesway (greenway path on disused railway line) to Ninelands Lane where we join the road into Garforth.

The cycle route back to Leeds continues along Barrowby Lane to The Springs retail park, Colton and Temple Newsam, rejoining the canal towpath at Skelton Lakes from where we will retrace our path back along the canal to Armley Mills.

Possible refreshment stops along the route are at St Aidan's RSPB reserve, The Springs, Temple Newsam and Skelton Lakes (toilets also available at most of these venues) so bring money for a cuppa and cake!

NB: Parts of the route can be muddy after rain, so road bikes are not advisable. We will need to push our bikes up the stairs/ramp at Skelton Grange on the way back.
