A fantastic varied route around some lovely landmarks and fantastic preserved cycle routes that Derbyshire and Staffordshire have to offer

Firstly we make our way across to park into the town then join the Tissington trail at the tunnel gateway to this fantastic not to be missed stretch up to when we come off at biggin . We then go on abit of road country quiet road then branch off up a bridleway we drop down heading towards the village of Hartington but don’t go through it we branch off again up a lovely bridleway taking in spectacular views of the dales , we descend down towards the river dove, taking in the fantastic views on the bridge where the gateway to dovedale is.we head over a bridleway making our way to the beginning of the manifold way at hulme end where we stop for our main cafe stop we can browse around the fascinating visitors center ,before we set off on the manifold way passing some lovely views in particular Thors cave view. At the end of this trail we take the footpath at side of a busy road up towards we turn off and go up a farm trail . We then have to encounter a busy road for about 500 hundred yards before turning off and going towards the village of mapplewell on some quiet lanes. We then head back to Ashbourne going back through the tunnel, we can stop in Ashbourne for a drink / refreshments before venturing back to the car park etc

Quiet lanes , farm tracks , bridleways . Some small sections of busy roads . Tarmaced surfaces and gravel surfaces on the national cycling network Tissington and manifold

Stopping at hulme end cafe and visitors center stopping in Ashbourne at the end of the ride . Plenty of beautiful areas to stop photo opportunities

Helmets are advisable, tools and spares to repair any punctures encountered. Drinks and snacks for the ride . Cash/card for possible purchases at the cafe.
