Starting point

Greater Manchester
M19 2SW

Ride Out Manchester is a Manchester and north-west England based cycling group for LGBT / gay / lesbian / bisexual / transgender cyclists and their friends. All abilities and bike types welcome.

Starting on Canal St at the corner where it meets Chorlton St, we will ride on roads for a short time whilst exiting the city centre and heading towards the Ashton Canal Towpath. Once we hit the canal we will follow it round to Gorton, where the towpath connects to the Fallowfield Loop. From their we will follow the Fallowfield off road loopline all the way to its end in Chorlton, where we can stop for a coffee break, before cycling along a mile or so of road in order to reach the off road Ashton Canal towpath. We will follow this towpath into the city centre, where we will return to road riding through Deansgate and along Portland St in order to make our way back to Canal St

The route is ideal for hybrids and trail bikes, road bikes with sturdy tyres should be ok but please be aware there are some rough and gravelly surfaces on the towpaths and some cobbled roads along the route. All riders are asked to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately, and bring extra warm and waterproof layers with them. Please also bring a spare inner tube and a puncture repair kit with you in case of a puncture.
