Autumn Ride to Lymm Ranger Hut

We leave Morrisons car park on Greenhalls Avenue to gain the TPT alongside the Manchester Ship Canal. We then cross Wilderspool Causeway and continue to along the TPT to Latchford. Cross by the swing bridge on Knutsford Road and head along Thelwall New Road towards Latchford locks. Right turn on to Bradshaw Lane to access the start of the Trans-Pennine Trail on the left. A short incline, gains the upper trail and we then follow this traffic-free route to our far point once past Lymm village. Retrace by the same route back to Morrisons.

A morning ride exploring the elevated section of the Trans-Pennine Trail, heading east. We by pass Thelwall and Lymm to our destination at the Ranger Hut.

Mostly traffic-free and flat terrain along the bed of an old disused railway. There are some short sections of the trail that are damp and muddy in places and these will be pointed out.

Our destination is The Ranger Hut, where seating and a coffee/tea is available. We can have a planned stop if people want to photograph the scenery.

Please ensure your tyres are suitable for some muddy sections. Helmets are recommended for adults and mandatory for U-18 riders. As its autumn, pack some gloves, layer up and have a waterproof. Bring your phone/camera to capture the scenery. Money too, if you.re having a coffee or cake!
