This suburban route sets off from the award winning Woodside Leisure Centre, visits "Watford's best kept secret", allows for a tea stop in Cassiobury Park & reveals some unexpected green spaces. The route also passes by Leavesden Studios, the production home of Harry Potter. All these sights are closer than you thought within Watford and more accessible by cycle route links!
This route is perfect for adults who want some quiet road practice and children who have achieved the National Standard for Bikeability Level Two who are warmly welcome to come on the ride with an accompanying parent / guardian. :)
Rachel Caterer is your Ride Leader and guide who will support and encourage you around the route and keep a smile on your face. :)
We recommend layering up for Winter rides and perhaps bring a small rucksack so you can take layers off / put on as needed. Also bring some money for our cafe stop if you would like to buy a drink, snack or light lunch.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order before the ride, especially that the tyres are pumped up and your brakes work.
Please bring a spare inner tube as this makes it easier to fix a puncture if it happens, rather than getting out the rubber glue. If you don't have a spare inner tube, Watford Cycle Hub sell them from £4 brand new, or recycled ones for £1 (no patches); 50p (patched).
