Back Lane O Beyond

Leaving the car park, the ride heads out of Chipping on a quiet, undulating back lane in the general direction of Beacon Fell. The route then turns right, to skirt below the embankments of Barns Fold reservoir and riders are soon rewarded with spectacular views towards Beacon Fell, Bleasdale and Parlick. The final part of the ride passes the local glider club before climbing gently up, to start the final descent into Chipping.

Under the Letsride guidelines, riders under 16 yrs must wear a well fitting helmet and be accompanied on the ride by a responsible adult. Please bring a waterproof, drink and snack - the weather can be changeable due to the adjacent hills. If you wish to enjoy the cafe after the ride, don’t forget your wallet. The car park is Pay and Display - please bring change. The Ride Leader is happy to assist in the event of punctures but it is helpful if you bring a spare inner tube that fits the bike’s wheel size. Bikes need to be in a roadworthy condition - if any safety concerns are identified on the pre-ride checks you will be advised to get these rectified before joining a ride. If you have a health condition that you feel the ride leader should know about, you can tell them in confidence before the start of the ride. Please ensure you carry any medication you may need to access on the ride.
