Starting point

Conwy
LL57 4FL

Starting at Port Penrhyn we cycle up the Lon Las Ogwen cycle path, before picking up Cycle Route 5 at Llandygai. We’ll follow Route 5 all the way along the coast to Conwy. The route is mainly quiet back roads with some minor main roads and the R5 cycle path. There is one section along the pavement adjacent to the A55 which we will take at a slow and steady pace.

Its a really pretty route being mainly along the coast. The back roads from Tal y Bont to Aber climb high to offer wonder views over the Menai Strait towards Anglesey and Puffin Island.

There are a few hills although they are well spaced to catch your breath. Everyone can take them at their own pace and we’ll regroup at the top.
We never leave anyone behind.

We’ll stop for a light lunch at The Mulberry at Conwy Marina. They have a good selection of inexpensive snacks. After that we’ll cycle into Conwy and stop at the quay before starting back for Bangor.

Bring your helmet and spare inner tube and check your bike is in good order & the tyres are pumped up before arriving. Bring drinks and snacks to keep you going on the ride. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather.
