Sunday 4th December 2022 9:00am

Starting from - We meet at the Black Horse pub car park (B31 2QT) at 8:50 and start riding at 9:00 after a quick briefing and bike check. Please note that:
IF YOU COME THERE BY CAR, this car park is NOT free and ANPR cameras are in operation. You're therefore advised to park alongside the Bristol road south, or at the top of Great Stone road or in the Northfield Pool & Fitness centre car park (B31 2PD) which is free, providing it is not full already. Please allow enough time to park, assemble your bike and be at the Black Horse car park in time for the briefing at 8:50.
IF YOU COME BY TRAIN, the nearest railway station (less than a mile) is Northfield.

Try to make sure your bike is in a rideable condition and bring your helmet, this is necessary. Also make sure you have adequate clothing for the weather (several layers is good to be able to peel one off when you get warmer). Wind/rain proof is wise if weather is uncertain. A bit of cash or a bank card is advised if you want something at the café stop. Finally an inner tube matching the size of your wheel is advised in case of puncture. We have pumps and tools but not necessarily all size of inner tubes. B31 2QT

WON'T BE PLEASANT AND POSSIBLY RISKY.
SORRY FOR THE LATE NOTICE

Run by Beacon Roads Cycling Club and lead by British Cycling trained ride leaders, this is a lovely 28 mile ride heading out through Earlswood Lakes.
Starting from The Black Horse public house car park we ride for around 2 miles on quiet urban roads then onto quiet rolling country lanes. We will have a short stop between the lakes to take in the beautiful scenery and for a photo opportunity. Just after this at 18 miles we will stop to refuel at The Craft Centre Café.
The pace will be of the slowest rider, which is usually between 11-13mph (18-21kph). You will be looked after throughout the ride. No one is dropped.

THE WEATHER FOR THIS WEEK-END (4th DEC) IS QUITE COLD. SO PLEASE:
1) MAKE SURE YOU'LL HAVE ADEQUATE CLOTHING TO BE WARM ENOUGH (don't forget gloves, warm socks and possibly a headband for your ears)
2) CHECK THIS WEBSITE ON SATURDAY EVENING TO MAKE SURE THE RIDE HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LATEST WEATHER FORECAST / LIKELY ICY CONDITION (if you enter your mobile number when registering, you will be texted should this be the case)
3) NOTE THAT EVEN IF IT GOES AHEAD THE RIDE MIGHT GET SHORTENED TO 24 or 20 MILES ONLY, DEPENDING ON THE CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED AND ON HOW PARTICIPANTS FEEL.
