Enjoy a gorgeous 8 mile ride around the Bere Ferrers peninsula. Take a train ride with your bike from Plymouth railway station to Bere Ferrers (train leaves Plymouth at 09h20, £4.80 for an adult return ticket, bikes go free), then follow the course of the Tamar for a while, before heading uphill into Bere Alston, then loop back mostly downhill to the banks of the Tavy, before heading back to Bere Ferrers. Bring some money for a drink or a bite to eat at the Olde Plough Inn. Please note - there is a short but fairly steep section of road when turning away from the Tamar, towards Bere Alston. Trains back to Plymouth leave at 12h32 and 14h23. It is not possible to reserve bike spaces on the train, and bike spaces are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a possibility that you may not get space on a specific train, and may have to wait for the next train. Obviously, you are responsible for your own train fare and travel arrangements to and from the starting point. Of course, you're more than welcome to get to the starting point without taking the train, and we'll be equally happy to meet you in the Bere Ferrers station car park.
