Starting point

NE8 2BZ

From the Events Area on the Kellman's Way Riverside Path near the Staiths Cafe.

This is a short easy ride to help you to get you on or back on a bike! From 12 noon to 3 pm Dr Bike will also be operating in the area and you can get your bike checked out before the ride (numbers permitting!) The event is funded by the Cycling UK's Big Bike Revival. Children need to please be accompanied by a grown-up and under 16's please wear a helmet. We will travel through Staiths S Bank estate to the route of the Tanfield Railway. At the end of this we will travel along the very quiet Ropery Road for a very short section. We will walk across the road and under the underpass to Eslington Park. Travelling along the route of a waggonway past the football club we will turn back through another path through Eslington Park, over the bypass and to Dunston Staiths and the Saltmarsh Garden and back along the Keelmans Way to the Staiths Cafe for a nice cuppa and cake!
