Join us to celebrate Billie Fleming's Birthday with a delightful ride around the lanes & cycle tracks of Ashridge leading down to the canal at Berkhamsted, along the Grand Union Towpath and back up the road to the monument - followed by delicious (Birthday) cake at the Brownlow Café. Free parking & loo's at the start/finish. In 1938, Billie Fleming cycled everyday of the year, all over the Uk, covering 29,604 miles becoming the only female holder of the world record for most miles cycled in a year. Billie died in 2014, aged 100. In 2015, over 400 women cycled in tribute to Billie, between them cycling over 100,000 miles, all over the UK following Billie's route. See tributetobillie for more
