Birmingham and Solihull Explorer ride - Blakedown

This is one of our new, twice monthly Explorer rides where we explore areas a bit further afield by travelling to our startpoint (road or rail) and then cycle at quite a leisurely pace (9-10mph) between 20-40 miles. This week's ride starts from Yardley Wood station where we take the 9.45 train to Blakedown. Alternatives are to get on at any station en route or drive and park for free on Mill Lane by Blakedown station. Meetup at station at 10.40 am. We'll then take country lanes on a circular, undulating tour through several Worcestershire villages before returning to Blakedown where we'll have a refreshment/lunch stop at a local hostelry. After a leisurely lunch (plenty of choice in the 2 meals for £10) we plan to catch the 2.29pm train back - arriving 3.23pm. Alternatively forgo your lunch and catch the 1.29pm. There's also a 1.59 or 2.59 to Dorridge so lots of options. Helmets are recommended but not compulsory. Please bring a drink and food, plus a spare inner tube, lights and cash for train ticket and for any refreshments you want to buy.
