Leaving from outside Bolton Rail Station, we get quickly leave the town centre and get onto NCN route 55 through Great Lever towards Farnworth. The trail takes us through Ashton's Field nature reserve to Blackleach country park. There we go along residential streets the short distance to Parr Fold Park where we will stop for refreshments before heading back to Bolton on the Roe Green Loopline. The route is largely flat with the odd short hill thrown in for variety.

Never mind Route 66, come and explore Route 55 between Bolton and Walkden! A mainly traffic free route, we will go along the Linnyshaw line to visit Blackleach Country Park and stop for a brew at Parr Fold Park before joining the Roe Green loopline back via Farnworth to Bolton.

Most of the route will be on the traffic free paths of NCN55, with good riding surfaces.

There will be a stop at the cafe on Parr Fold Park

Bring money for a brew and pack that waterproof in case of showers.

First-timers welcome!
