Starting point

Powys Radnorshire
LD3 0YX

Starting at Boughrood we take the quiet, gently undulating back road to Glasbury. We then climb up towards Velindre and shortly after begin a long, steep hill that leads up to the common above Talgarth.

There follows a stunning high-level route with a particular steep drop, down and up, to tackle mid-way at Llanelieu. The lanes will be pot holed and muddy in places and these sections should be ridden with care. There are also a few farm gates and cattle grids crossing the lane at various points.

After the common, we have a long, steep, pot holed downhill returning all the way to Talgarth and the Bakers Table at Talgarth Mill where we will stop for some refreshment. Afterwards we will return to Boughrood on a level route, using some busier roads.

Please use a well-maintained bicycle, wear a helmet, gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather. Remember to carry a drink, a spare tube, puncture repair kit, pump and some money for refreshments.
