An opportunity to experience some of the improved cycling infrastructure resulting from the council's Transforming Cities Fund project (TCF).

A gentle social ride from Bournemouth Pier to Coy Pond via the Bourne Valley Greenway. This ride is largely traffic free and is low speed, no one gets left behind! There are lovely views of the Upper Gardens during the ride. We stop for 10-15 minutes at Coy Pond to enjoy the view and then return to Bournemouth Pier.

Safety: This is not a particularly hazardous ride, but you do ride at your own risk and are responsible for your own actions. Pedestrians have priority on traffic free sections and pay particular attention to dogs and small children. Great care has to be taken when crossing Bournemouth Square and riders may have to dismount. There are some small bumps where tree roots has raised the surface and parts of the upper section has a temporary surface. There is also some loose gravel and so this may not be suitable for road bikes with narrow tyres. To reduce risk and to keep things manageable the number of riders is limited and you must book your place in advance via this website.

Weather: this ride will not take place if there are strong winds (>20 mph on the BBC website Bournemouth forecast 2 hours before the ride) and/or heavy rain.
