This cycle ride is at a gentle pace on quiet roads and through beautiful parks but gives you a chance to practice some hills! Starting at the café in Friary Park, you will have the chance to get your cycling legs and practice before we set off through Bethune Park, New Southgate Recreation Ground and along the Pymmes Brook trail before we reach Oakhill Park for a breather and a cuppa. You’ll be ready then for the quiet hill up to Oakleigh Park before crossing to the Dollis Brook trail and winding back to Friary Park. The route is about 8 miles and together with the coffee break will take about 2 hours. This ride is suitable for women who want to get back into cycling after a break and those that want to take the next step on riding on roads with other supportive riders. We'll ride as a group so no-one will be left behind and there will be chances to rest if needed. What to wear? Anything comfy and waterproof if necessary! Wearing a helmet is advisable but not compulsory. Please bring a spare inner tube and bike lock if you can. Also some money for a drink and a snack. Hope you can join us- you'll be very welcome!
