We will start our ride at 10am outside the Café at Beechenhurst where there is plenty of parking. After a quick check of our bikes, we will head out joining the family cycle trail and follow the route on a gentle climb up to Woodgreen's Nature Reserve. We will then descend to ride along part of Linear Park from where we will head back towards the centre enjoy more of the Forest of Dean. Once back at the café, there is an excellent opportunity to stop for a cuppa and a well-deserved slice of their lovely cakes.

Autumn brings the most beautiful display of colour in the Forest as the Beech and Larch give a vibrant display as their leaves drop for the winter. We will be riding 15km of gravel fire trails through the forest enjoying the sights and sounds of the autumn hopefully spot some interesting some wildlife and historic features .

We will be riding gravel fire roads and there are couple of steady climbs but we will take them slowly and have regular stops to catch our breath and make sure we all stay together.

There are no cafes stops on the ride but we will only be out a couple of hours and returning to Beechenhurst Café at the end to enjoy refreshments there.

Bring your own bike. This ride is suitable for bikes with off-road tyres (wide and knobbly) and please make sure your bike is in good condition. Helmets are mandatory and gloves would be recommended. Dress suitably for the weather remembering that Autumn mornings can be a bit chilly, especially in the shade of the trees. And whatever the forecast, bring a waterproof coat just in case, as the weather can be unpredictable in this area.

We never leave anyone behind
